Tarja, there was quite a stir about the End of an Era -DVD. First you didn't want to give Nightwish the authority to release it. It even was spoken about penalty if you would be mentioned in the documentary.
There were a lot of wrong information concerning this matter. I never said in the media that I wouldn't give the band the authority. It was all a big mess. When these things were made public, there wasn't a contract that could seriously be signed. Obviously the band still doesn't know how certain things should be done. It took two months until I came to a solution with the label and the band. I never wanted these details to get public because they're private.
Who has made mistakes? The band does have a management, dealing with business matters.
I don't want to answer this question because it's a private matter.
Did you ever talk to anybody concerning the title or artwork of the DVD?
I haven't been involved in these decisions. After I waited a while, I finally received the DVD. To me, it was a matter of course to get it from the band. After all it's my right to see it. I didn't change anything about the final content.
When I was talking to Tuomas a few weeks ago and I mentioned your disappointment in not being involved in artwork and title decisions, he said that you never cared about these things anyway.
Oh. Let's not comment on this.

When did you watch the DVD for the first time?
In April.
How did you feel?
It was everything but easy to watch the concert. I guess that was the first and last time that I watched it.
Really?
Why should I watch it again? It was hard enough to be confronted with those memories.
Did you advocate the documentary?
I didn't know there was supposed to be a documentary so I was quite surprised when I heard about it. A long time ago I asked the band whether there wouls be extras on the DVD. The answer was "No" then. Later I got to know that there was one. But I don't have any problems with the documentary itself.
What do you think about the Nightwish-biography?
I don't really care about this book. A long time ago, the author asked for a detailed interview with me - location was supposed to be my home. He said it was very important for the biography. In the end of our last tour, the publishing deadline was approaching so in the end we only talked on the phone for an hour about my part in Nightwish. When I asked if this was supposed to be my only contribution for the biography I didn't get an answer.
I got the answer when I was kicked.
According to Tuomas the split is just a small part in the end of the biography.
Then you know more than I do. I've never read the book.
Are there any news about your first solo album?
The album is planned for 2007. Of course I'm thinking of possible cooperations but there are no names yet. I'm certain that I will not compose the songs myself because I have no "know how" for that. There will be elements of different styles of music.
Is it likely that you will ever be on stage with Nightwish again?
I don't know. First, the guys would have to call me. We haven't spoken a word since the split. This split was very hard for me.
But then I'm surprised that you're going to sing Nightwish-Songs in one of your Solo-concerts in summer.
Why shouldn't I sing them?
Maybe because of hard memories coming along with them?
Of course memories will come up but I will love this music until the end of my life.
