Last autumn in the middle of my demo recordings of my solo album, I started to feel very, very tired and also nauseated. I took a pregnancy test and guess if me and my bf was really surprised to see that I had gotten pregnant. Since I had decided to not have any more children than my son, it was totally not planned, but after the very first shock, it felt really, really good;=)

Management has informed BraveWords.com that while there will be no new album until September of 2011, there are developments within the NIGHTWISH camp. Mainman Tuomas Holopainen is currently writing the follow-up to 2007’s Dark Passion Play which featured new singer Anette Olzon. The band will get together in July to record a demo of the ideas Holopainen has come up with. After that, he will live with the music, to determine if it just needs tinkering, or additional pieces must be created.

Currently the band is investigating the possibility of starting the next world tour in Los Angeles. Plans would call for a one-off North American exclusive at the 6,000 seat auditorium within the Universal Amphitheater. This venue would allow Nightwish to bring pyro and the full production to North America for the first time. A full continental tour would commence three-four months later, tentatively billed as late 2011, or early 2012.

Wow, Tarja Turunen sings Scorpions last album

German hardrock band Scorpions has asked for a former Nightwish star Tarja Turunen
to sing one song from their new album. The opportunity is unique, because the album to be published in March is the band’s last. Turunen has been a fan of the band since she was young.

Tarja Turunen says she was very flattered, when she got a call from band’s singer Klaus Maine.
Turunen even got to choose two songs which one she want to sing.

Tarja is still surprised at the request of the legendary band.

- I do not know the reason for it yet, why did the band want me to sing with their future album, Turunen wonders.
However, she has a feeling, why.

- I read the interview in Rudolf Schenker (the band’s guitarist) where he ranked my first solo album
the best album from year 2007, Turunen says.

Turunen says, that she has danced in teenage in discos which was played Scorpions music.
And she has listened to their music so much.

- I think it feels amazing to sing their album.

Scorpion starded 1965 and informed in January with their home pages that they quit.

After spending the last days with preparations for my exam later today and tomorrow at Uni, I thought it would be great to not drive myself crazy before the exam and just do something completely different: a partly new layout for eaglescry. I got bored by the old banner and I hope you like the new one :)

Collaboration revealed!

In one of her previous blog posts Tarja announced a collaboration with a very known band. According to a Scorpions interview with The Gauntlet Tarja sings in the song “The Good die young” from the upcoming album “Sting in the tail”:

The Gauntlet: Are there any guest vocalists like in the past?

Rudolf: Yes. One woman named Tarja [Turunen]. She is the old woman from a band called Nightwish. She is on the song “The Good Die Young”.

Hi everyone,

Since you sometimes ask me about our coming NW album and when it will be released etc, I have some news for you;=) The plans are rough and it might be changed but as for now:

- Tuomas has 9 songs ready already;=)

- We all will meet this summer for rehearsals and arranging the songs and getting a demo ready.

- We enter the studio next fall and the album will be released EARLIEST in the fall 2011.

So, great news and we are all excited!

Tarja performed the songs she recorded for the “Maailman kauneimmat joululaulut” album live in Helsinki just before christmas. On the 25th YLE TV aired the whole concert on finnish television and you are now also able to watch the whole show online on YLE.fi.

If you just want to watch the “Tarja moments”…some fans were so kind to upload those to youtube :)
